Breast infections

"Encourage the baby to nurse frequently (at least every two hours) and vary the nursing positions so pressure will be put on different ducts. One very strange but effective nursing position is hands and knees. Try putting the baby down on the bed or on a blanket on the floor and lean over him on all fours. Let your breast hang straight down, falling freely from your ribcage. Try not to let anyone see you doing this because they will probably fall over laughing."

Well, they say laughter is the best medicine.
I've been very ill for the past 2 days. The night before last I had a fever of 102.3 with major aches and paines, and a lingering migraine from the previouse night before that. Ibuprofin wasnt doing much, and since it was my 2 week post partum checkup and Eva's 2 week checkup- I was stuck being out and about.

On top of that, I have had a really ouchy boob on my left side. It was only in 1 spot, and I've never dealt with this before personally, but the first thing that came to mind was- could this be mastitis acting up on TOP of getting this horrible flu? Jay helped me out that night because I was literally deliriouse with the fever- the chills were getting the worst of me.

Last night my fever was only 101.2 but I still had a rough time sleeping and my breast hurt really bad- almost like someone punched me in it really hard.

With the pain lasting throughout the day today, I decided to look up on it and, sure enough- I have all the telltale signs of Mastitis (a breast infection).
No fun, I tell you. The fever, the pain, the achiness- all of that with a bit of red in the area and I can tell it's what is ailing me.

No fair, no fun, and Im calling my midwife in the morning to see if there is anything else I should be doing Im not already doing.
